RAHWAY FILM FESTIVAL 2015
The Third Annual Rahway International Film Festival returned on August 28-30, 2015 at UCPAC's Hamilton Stage for the Performing Arts. The film lineup consisted of 6 feature length films and 22 short films by filmmakers from around the world spanning 12 different countries as well as by local filmmakers right here in New Jersey. A highlight of RIFF 2015 was the introduction of feature length films in addition to short films, plus a special Saturday night outdoor screening. RIFF 2015 JUDGES & Q&A MODERATORS

Doug LeClaire is a thirty-year veteran of the NYC TV commercial & national cable network production industry and Clio Award winning Line Producer of national television spots and major cable network promos. He has produced advertising and promotional television campaigns for Lifetime TV Networks; WE-TV; Comedy Central; MTV; Spike, Oxygen as well as the NBC and ABC TV Networks. In 1981, Doug founded Asbury Shorts USA, now New York City’s longest running short film exhibition and touring show.

Judge and Q&A Moderator
Francesca Rizzo is an award-winning actor, writer and filmmaker working in television, stage and screen. A former CineWomenNY president, MovieMaker Magazine “Artist to Watch” and a NJSCA Distinguished Artist Fellow, Rizzo was an invited speaker at the Harvard Film Archives where her short film, “Sullivan’s Last Call” is taught in Boston University's curriculum. She was a co-founder of New York's Perfectly Frank Theater Company which produced over 35 new works and is currently developing the ensemble play, "Dames Like Us”, a provocative monologue comedy demolishing long-held stereotypes of women "of a certain age”.

Lisa Vandever
Judge
As co-founder and director of CineKink, an organization currently in its twelfth season that recognizes and encourages the positive depiction of sexuality in film and television, Lisa Vandever curates and oversees an annual film festival and touring series, designed to promote and showcase such works. A producer and consultant with over twenty years of experience in film and television, was formerly the director of programming for a regional network of public television stations, worked as a development executive for two New York-based independent production companies and was associate producer of the Sundance award-winning feature film, "Songcatcher." Originally from Oregon, Vandever has lived in Rahway since 2004, along with her husband, Alan, and an occasional stray cat.

Mahogany Reynolds
Q&A Moderator
Mahogany Reynolds is a triple-threat, versatile actress; who consistently books a wide range of roles in film, television and theater. Prior to becoming a performing artist; Mahogany worked as a professional print journalist, talk show host, and on-camera reporter. As her way of sowing a seed, and helping aspiring young talent build a career in the performing arts, Mahogany created Just Be You Performing Arts, and serves as the organization's Executive Director.

Rahway International Film Festival Opening Night Feature Film Presentation & World Premiere: "28 MINUTE EPIC (An Independent R-rated Superhero Action Comedy)" directed by GianCarlo Fernandez
Two aimless Jersey boy best friends, are fired from their cushy porn-store jobs, and decide to become superheroes for hire after accidentally saving someone's life. With help from a "professional" crime fighter, they find that being a hero isn't always super.
(This film is rated R. It contains strong subject matter, language, drug use, & sexual content. Viewer discretion advised.)
Ticket price includes a Cocktail Hour with complimentary glass of champagne and hors d'oeuvres at 6:30pm. Cocktail attire is encouraged, but not mandatory. Rahway International Film Festival Seminar Series - "Harmony of Music & Cinema" with Raymond Rolak
Raymond Rolak, one of the producers for RIFF’s Opening Night's short music presentation, "Only Wanna Party", and hailing all the way from Hawaii, leads this seminar on the process of incorporating music in film. "Only Wanna Party" is a new trans-media feature from Hawaii Cinema. Rolak will showcase how director Brian Kohne and producer Stefan Schaefer wove 27 original songs into the tropical comedic narrative. He will also present a template for emerging filmmakers, musicians, and film buffs regarding the journey of incorporating new music with their cinema projects, including how to enhance projects at little cost. All attendees will get a complimentary industry related worksheet.

In Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, George Adams creates a new dance form called, Brukup. This revived dance form has evolved as dancers use the foundation of the Brukup movement to enhance their free form and mutation style of dance. Desperately trying to escape the street life, Brukup is the one thing that keeps them all together and saves them from the tough urban streets of the 'Stuy'. Keeping kids off the streets by showing them how to turn anger into the art of dance, they are a family. They are: The Lords of BSV.

While working at a beaten-up truck stop, a teenager with Cerebral Palsy befriends a troubled runaway. A teenage boy and girl discover a renewed sense of possibility as they go on a road trip to photograph lighthouses along the California coast. Together they find the strength that each needs to confront their obstacles. Starring Juno Temple (Maleficent, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) and Evan Peters (American Horror Story, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Kick-Ass).

They must overcome their personal demons to become the champions they want to be, embarking on a journey that takes them down unexpected roads. With the backdrop of the recovering Jersey Shore in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, these 2 fighters battle in and out of the ring against their greatest opponent - themselves.

A young banker has a dream one night that he will meet the girl of his dreams. When he meets her, she turns out to be homeless. He rejects her in favor of a model, but the banker keeps running into the homeless girl, and the two may share a bond.
